I have a very exciting update that I need each of you to join me in praying for! As of tonight my squad will be leaving Albania and hopping on a bus to head to Lesvos, Greece. Why are we leaving the original work we were doing in Albania to go to a completely different country? Well, as it turns out there is a great need on the island of Lesvos as approximately 1,500 refugees raft from Turkey to Greece in order to escape the pain of war in the Middle East.

Not long ago in the middle of our day a meeting was called by our squad leaders. They announced to us that Samaritan’s Purse had supplies galore to help with the refugee crisis in Lesvos but few workers. Workers is exactly what we could bring to the table. The need was great and our squad happened to be the closest squad geographically to respond to their call.

So here we go! Yesterday, we finished the projects we had started on our Albanian farm and today we head to Greece. So many thoughts are coursing through my mind. We’re still working out where our entire squad of 45 will be staying and won’t know until we arrive what job each of us will be doing. However, I do know this: the Lord has called our squad to this task. I know I am ready to be challenged even if I’m not certain what this challenge will look like.

Please pray for us. Pray for the Spiritual battle and the physical battle. We will be on the front lines of this crisis. Possibly even receiving people from the shore. Pray for the emotional state of my squad. I am ready to step up and do what God is asking of me, but I also know that it doesn’t mean there won’t be some serious pain to work through. People are running from war, hardship, and death itself. Everything within me desires to be an example of Christ that they can lean on through these troubled times.

Thank you for praying! As I work in this new situation with my squad, I will continue to keep you posted on what our tasks look like over in Greece. May Jesus present Himself evidently to these people searching for hope because through Him all hope is found.
