I have loved spending the past 2 months with the kids here in Lesotho. I can’t even put into words how much I’m going to miss them. We were able to build such great relationships with them and what started as an exhausting and overwhelming ministry soon became the most meaningful and rewarding.
These kids are filled with so much joy and have wild imaginations. They may not always get along but you can tell that they love each other like they were family. It’s so beautiful to see the way they take care of one another and welcome everyone in with open arms.
I have seen changes in many of the kids since we’ve been here. They have opened up and allowed us to love them and have loved us back and it was such a beautiful thing to witness.
I have also changed. Before the race even started I asked God to break my heart for what breaks his heart, and these kids broke my heart. God loves all the children of this world and he cares about each one so deeply and I got to experience that feeling with the 30 kids here. I grew in compassion and empathy and learned more about what it means to love well.
