This past week I’ve really been able to dive into my ministry here in Guatemala. Me and two girls from my team have started helping Chad, a missionary from the USA who teaches principles and values in the schools. From Monday to Thursday us girls plan and teach principle and values classes in the schools and Chad translates for us. On Fridays we go with him to a bible study and youth group and help him with whatever he needs.

Wednesday is one of my favourite days as we get to teach a kids club in one of the schools. The kids are all about 5-12 years old and they’re so easy to play and interact with even though we don’t speak the same language. They listen so well to the story and lesson and I really feel like we have the potential to make a big impact in their lives. They greet us with big smiles and hugs and they’ve already stolen my heart!

Friday is also one of my favourite days. We go with Chad to meet two girls, Manny and Lourdes, for a bible study. The girls are so happy and giggly but they’re serious about learning more about God and deepening their relationship with Him. I love watching them reflect on Chad’s questions and giving him honest answers. They’re such a joy to be around and this week they made us try eating chicken gizzards. It sounds gross but they honestly don’t taste that bad once you get over the rubbery texture!

It blows my mind that month 1 of the race is over. God has already opened so many doors for us and as I dive deeper into my ministry with Chad I’m so excited to see what else God has planned.
