This morning, everyone left to their own ministry while my team and one other are staying here in Antigua. Living in the same house with 40 other people these past 2 weeks has been busy and loud but full of so much laughter and blessings. It’s going to be an adjustment living with 11 other girls but I am so excited to spend more time with the girls on my team and really focus on pouring into each other.
Throughout the past week I felt God calling me to have pure joy and live in the freedom He’s given me. Looking back on the week I can see how He’s blessed me with exactly that. One of my favourite memories from this week was when I ordered a latte. Maggie (an awesome girl on my team!) and I walked into a small quiet coffee shop in Antigua and met Ivan, the guy working there. He doesn’t have much money but he’s so passionate about what he does and he loves helping those around him whenever he can. We sat there for over an hour talking to him about his life and what he’s passionate about. He made me an amazing latte (complete with a bear drawing in the foam!) and his joy and passion was contagious!
This week was full of so many other awesome moments, including
- Abby and I judging a huge dance contest at Inebe, one of our schools
- Awesome all girls soccer game in San Pedro
- Watching a Spanish comedy show to raise funds for New Generation
- Guatemalan wedding at the house we’re living in
- Climbing the Pacaya Volcano
- Attending Shoreline church
God has shown up in so many ways this week and I know that He still has so much in store for us here.
