Have you ever felt so compelled to do something that it moves you to tears? Did you follow that call or ignore it in hopes you would find something easier and less sacrificial?

I first heard about the World Race when I was seventeen. I went on their website and clicked on the first video I saw. There were 5-6 girls with mayonnaise caked in their hair dancing around and singing. As weird as it sounds (why would anybody want mayonnaise in their hair right?), the video touched me so deeply. Almost instantly, my heart started to race and tears spilled onto my cheeks. I wanted to be one of those girls, and I knew one day I would be.

I have failed to follow God’s plan many times, but fast forward three years and here I am preparing to embark on this journey of 11 countries in 11 months! I am learning that God’s plans for us aren’t always easy. There will be trials and tribulations, and many times, giving up will seem like the best option. When we stand up and walk the road that The Lord has planned for us, our lives have meaning and we are fulfilled. There are not enough words to describe how excited and anxious, yet so humbled I feel that God chose me!

“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares The Lord,

“plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you                                                                                                      hope and a future.”  -Jeremiah 29:11
