I have VERY exciting news….look at the top of this page and you will notice that I’m fully funded!! God has truly blessed me beyond measure, and I can’t thank all of you enough who have been a part of this journey so far and given to me, it’s beyond amazing! I never would have thought I would be able to say that I’m fully funded for Launch! I would like to say a special thanks for the Gibson City Bible Church and The Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Colfax, other family and friends you are not forgotten as well.
Several weeks ago I logged into my computer to buy my first one-way flight. Always before this moment I had set plans on returning home in a few days, a week, or maybe two weeks, but never no ticket home. This is the moment things became real for me, and I mean things really set in. I never realized how much faith it took to buy an airline ticket! Never before have I trusted God in this mighty of a way. I’m about to embark on a long journey, and that has to start with a spirit of abandonment. I have to be willing to leave basically everything behind. Quite literally I’m abandoning my life in the States for a life of picking up my cross and following Him. I’m not saying this to boast, but to say that I’m going to struggle and fight daily to keep my focus on the cross and not on my personal desires or ideas of what a “fun’’ or “cool” race would be. I’m not doing this to add stamps to my passport but to add members to the family of Christ. I’m not always going to love it and I’m probably going to mess up a lot, but that’s where grace comes in. Grace isn’t interested in keeping track of my wrongs, and it will always find me before judgment, praise God!
Pray for me as I have/had to say some really hard goodbyes this week. I know eleven months will go by fast, but from this vantage point it seems like a long time to go without seeing my family, especially my precious two-year-old nephew! Also thanks friends and family for coming to my going away party! It was such a fun way to say goodbye! 😉 Stay tuned for updates from Launch. I will be in Atlanta for a few days and then I will fly to Honduras on the 5th! Pray for safe travels! Thanks again for the support and prayers it does not go unnoticed!
