After Month 4, we had this “little” thing called TEAM CHANGES! I am no longer surrounded by my 5 Kefi Kingdom girls. I’m going to be honest, it was hard letting go of what had become my “normal” for the last 4 months, but I am also really excited to introduce to you my new team, New Zion! Teams aren’t the only thing that changed during this time, but leadership roles changed as well! I am no longer a treasurer for Kefi Kingdom, but was asked to be a Team Leader for New Zion. I am so excited for this new season of leading and so far it has been a great experience!
New Zion is a tiny but mighty team, with a total of 5 people. There are 3 women and 2 men: Holly, Sara, myself, Rick, and Tanner.
Let me give you a little glimpse into what it looks like to do life “co-ed” on the World Race…
Some days you may find yourself almost peeing your pants from being scared to death after sneak attacks… *cough* RICK
Or it may look like raining orange peels from the ceiling as the men throw them over the walls into the room where you are bucket showering. *cough* TANNER
And maybe, if you’re lucky enough, it may look like getting buckets of water thrown on the outside latrine while you are using it. *cough* RICK
Oh, and don’t forget that every sentence becomes a cheesy pun! *cough* TANNER
But on ALL days, it’s also having the opportunity to see life through different lenses and a different perspective. It’s a lot of encouragement and leadership. It’s a lot of laughter and silliness. And it’s the opportunity to see Christ-centered men seeking the Lord wholeheartedly.
And let me tell you about my two other teammates. I was lucky enough to have one Kefi Kingdom member, Sara, join me on my new team, and that was comforting to have someone who’s spent the past 4 months getting to know me already. She’s got the voice of an angel and the discernment of Jesus! And then there’s Holly, who the Lord has cultivated our friendship since Training Camp who has incredible intentionality and perseverance. These two wonderful women are Spirit-filled and sassy!
So here they are:
SARA:
Joyfully singing
Powerful praying
Discernment holding
PRAYER WARRIOR
TANNER:
Workout loving
Kid playing
Sermon preaching
TEACHER
RICK:
Prank playing
Cultural barrier breaking
Perspective seeking
COUNSELOR
HOLLY:
Guitar playing
Identity seeking
Bible knowing
ENCOURAGER
Aren’t I lucky?! These are the people I get to spend every day with. They are the reason that team change has been so smooth. It’s an honor to get to do ministry with them, and I wanted you all to get a glimpse of it as well!
