On Thursday, I had the unique experience of going to the dentist with some of the children from the orphanage. As we arrived at the dentist, there were about 6 school children dressed in uniforms running around the waiting room. As I was sitting in the waiting room with one of our children, I couldn’t help but gaze over at these school kids. My heart began to break as I thought about how these six children likely had homes to go to at the end of the day. That they likely had someone to call mama or papa. The kids at the orphanage don’t have that. While the children at For His Children are very blessed because of the facility they live in and the care they receive, you can still see in their eyes each and every day the longing for someone to love them as a son or daughter. For someone to call mama or papa. For someone to lavish their love on them!

Isn’t that all of our desires? Often times, I find myself just sitting in
Jesus’ lap, calling Him papa, and desiring to have His love lavished
on me. My hope is that these orphaned children know abundantly
the love of Jesus. That they know that He loves them as son or
daughter. That He is with them, cheering them on, listening to them,
wiping away their tears, and rejoicing in their laughter each and
every day. These children, who have no example of an earthly
father, have a heavenly father who lavishes His love on them
 abundantly each day.

I pray that you know that you do too. I pray that these children know
God’s goodness and that know that He calls them His children.
