Month eleven. Thinking back on the past months I can’t believe that this race is almost done. I couldn’t have picked a better place to end the race. My team, along with another team, is in Penang, Malaysia. It is an island off the mainland of Malaysia.

Malaysia has three main cultures: Malay, Indian, and Chinese. Penang is known as the food capital of Malaysia. We are living in Georgetown and have Indian food right out our door and Chinatown is just one block down. There are also numerous café’s with great food and coffee. The water is very close to us. And we have a rooftop. There are great places here for quiet times.

We are working with YWAM here volunteering with a homeless shelter called Kawan. Kawan means friends and that is exactly what they are to the homeless of Penang.

We have also partnered with a local hospital helping them raise funds for heart patients who can’t afford heart surgery. One surgery costs about 25,000RM and so that is our goal for our time here.

It isn’t illegal to be a Christian in Malaysia but it is illegal to proselytize. Therefore we are just volunteering here and talking about Jesus if it comes up.

However, the other day I got in a taxi and as we were describing what we were doing the taxi driver says, I’m a Christian also. This man has an incredible vision and he got to share it with us.

It’s really awesome to see God move in a country where He’s not widely accepted. Here’s to a great last month on the World Race and finishing strong!
