My birthday is coming up. Wednesday, October 24th, to be exact. It's my "golden birthday" as I will be turning 24 on the 24th. A lot of other racers have done big fundraisers via social media on their birthdays, asking for the dollar equivalent of the age they are turning. "$28 on my 28th!" and the like. That's a great idea, and I could take off running with that: $24, for my 24th, on the 24th! What a great way to get people to donate.

But here's the thing. I don't necessarily want to ask all my Facebook friends for money again. I've already done that with $11 on the 11th (for 11 countries in 11 months) for the last two months. I got a handful of respsonses for that. And yeah, sure, I could have been more aggressive than just posting a status or two about it, but I don't want to do something like that again.

So here's what I want to do: if you are reading this, would you please give me your Facebook status for my birthday? Would you help me spread the word about this amazing journey God has in store for me and for the rest of the World Racers that are headed out in January? Sure, the money thing is important. And yes, if you feel led to support me, I would be incredibly grateful. But the more important aspect is for God to be glorified. If He does amazing things leading up to this trip, and during it, and the stories aren't shared, what is the benefit? Sure, I'll know what amazing things He is doing and people close to me will know, but how many more people could be reached just through this blog?

On Wednesday, rather than posting on my Facebook wall, wishing me a happy birthday, please post the link to my blog, or just share with someone. Let them know God is moving in mighty ways, taking young people on a journey across the nations to serve in His name, and He has chosen me to be a part of that journey. Use whatever words you feel lead to, or don't use any words at all, simply post the link. Tell everyone, tweet it, instagram it. Please just help me share my story. Or rather, what my story will be.
