Monday morning I left on a plane for Washington D.C. to launch for The World Race, The night before I left Dallas, God and many friends and family poured out their love and prayers over me. It was my last night in Dallas to say my final goodbyes for an 11 months to the people I love. It was an incredible time of worship and fellowship with our Heavenly Father. I was truly humbled by all the love and support that I received that night.

We don’t always see the impact we make and the influence we have over people’s lives but my last night at home I seen it to the max.

A few things that I took with me to remind me to cherish those friendships is I was given a ESV Journaling Bible and that everyone who wanted to write their life verse in the bible and also along with an encouraging word did so. That bible and those words will be a treasure to me this year, especially in hard times.

The second thing was a hand written letter from my best friend and inside was a bracelet with the words “Courage” engraved on a gold plate. Every time I’m weak or weary I can look at that bracelet on my wrist and remind myself that my best friend Frank is expecting me to be courageous especially when it’s not easy.

I know that I’m supported by some of the most amazing people, and that makes it so much easier to leave everything behind and “Go”

The whole plane ride over to D.C. I prayed and read everyone’s notes to me, I tried to keep it together but I just couldn’t. I read and wept all over my bible. I believe I was grieving the past season of my life and everyone that had a part of shaping my walk with the Lord.
I’m ready to step into what God has for me; to experience God like I have never experienced Him.

This week has been kind of slow, with sessions during the day and evening and lots of down time. To be honest I just want to get on the plane and go. I’m ready! To the best of my knowledge we’ll be around Beria, Mozambique working at Iris Ministries at an orphanage. Here’s the link for the ministry http://www.irismin.org/about

We should be in Mozambique by 1/11/13; I’ve heard we will fly from D.C. to Dubai and then Dubai to Johannesburg and then a wonderful 35 hour bus ride to our ministry site.

I love each and every one of you and will miss everyone very much. Please continue to pray for me and my team and squad as we embark on this journey.

            Prayer request

  • Wisdom and favor from God in being my team’s treasurer, because I am a little stressed out with this responsibility but I know God is going to do an amazing work in me and teach me a lot about being a great financial steward. Please pray!
