Ok, so it's not exactly a tree house but close enough. 🙂 Our ministry has been teaching English classes to a bunch of sweet children who we've grown quite attached to. Yumong and Nary, our wonderful contacts for the month, are the only Christians in the village of Prekpor and they both felt compelled to move here to teach English and share the love of Christ. Many of the kids call their home the "treehouse of Jesus." Every day we have the privilege of teaching children and teenagers who come up to the house with big smiles and an eagerness to learn. The younger ones can get a little rowdy at times but then again, they are the ones who know all of our names, make us sweet cards, and constantly give us big hugs! We eat, sleep, and teach all in the same place which is actually quite convenient! Nary always prepares delicious and healthy meals for us which my team is thankful for. We've all taken turns in the mornings riding along with her to the market to purchase fresh meat, veggies, and fruit.

If I could choose one word to describe our humble abode, it would be peaceful. There is a unique stillness to the treehouse which I truly value. Our house overlooks 2 sugar cane fields There are trees all around us which gently sway and offer a much needed reprieve from the afternoon heat. Luckily, we are experiencing Cambodia during their "Winter" season so it's not as hot as we expected. Although, winter in Cambodia is vastly different than winter in the U.S. We all wake up around 6 and spend time on the porch praying and enjoying the wonder of this place. One of my favorite things about living in a small village is the absence of convenience stores, shopping malls, and 24/7 wifi. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy all of those things but the limited distractions have been a rich blessing to each one of us. We've been intentional about investing in one another and in our relationships with God. My prayer life has strengthened. I've enjoyed my teammates more. We've become like family with Nary and Yumong. Life has been sweet here.

Update: Tomorrow morning our squad leaves for AFRICA!!!! Tanzania here we come! 🙂
