Hey everyone, so I wanted to share what has been going on since I have been in North Carolina. One night my roommate and I went out to a restaurant and ate dinner which was great because, we were able to talk and get to know more about each other. That night on the way back from the restaurant she showed me souvenir shops, the view of the mountains, different thrift stores in the area and the best place to get wings from. (yummy ??). I was able to move into the grey house and meet the house captain and all the other ladies who I am going to be living with for the next year. I am so excited to seek more of God during this journey and to also build healthy relationships with all the ladies this year. Every Monday and Wednesday nights all the ladies gather and have dinner together and we also worship together which I always look forward to.
Yes, this was a huge adjustment for me personally because one I have never lived with so many people in one house before but also because it was change and honestly, I do not take change very well. What I had to learn that change is everywhere, it is apart of life and that I am not always going to like it. The past few days I have been able to adjust well to the new life around me, I have been able to see the town more and meet more people from the other houses as well.
This is the scripture that the Holy Spirit has placed on my heart during the time of transition…
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
More blogs will be coming this week to talk about what else has been happening during the month of January.
Thank you all,
Kira Kirkland
