Today in church the question was asked, “What does the cross mean to you?”  I starting thinking about what my response to that question would be and my conclusion was this: LOVE.

When I think of the cross, I think about God's great love for me.  I think about Him sending His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to die for my sins that I may be reconciled to Him forever.  I think about the love and obedience of Jesus to go to the cross for me.  I am thankful and humbled that Jesus willingly laid down His life for me so that I am freed from the punishment of sin.  I am ever so grateful that salvation is not earned by my “goodness” but that it is a gift freely given to all those who believe in the perfect and finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Thanks to the love of my Heavenly Father…

I am free from sin's curse! ( Rom. 6:17-18)

I am saved by grace! (Eph. 2:4-8)

I am His righteousness! (2 Cor. 5:21)

I am His precious child! (John 1:12)

I am perfected by His finished work on the cross! (John 19:30, Heb. 10:14)

HALLELUJAH!!!

JESUS LOVES ME!!!

I am ever so thankful that He loves me, and it is because He loves me that I love Him!

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
