I made my way down to Atlanta, GA on October 12 to begin a new part of my World Race adventure.  The entire week before I left, the idea of going to training camp felt like a dream.  I knew I was excited to go but it all felt very distant to me and it was hard to believe it was really happening.  It was something I had never experienced before and it seemed very unreal.

But that all changed.  No longer did it seem like a dream, it was real.

I arrived at the Atlanta airport in the morning of the 12th and was able to meet people from my squad as well as many others from the other January squads.  It was a nice time of getting to know people and just resting before heading into a week of “who’s knows what”.  A couple buses and a van picked us all up later on in the afternoon to take us to a campground in Tennessee to meet up with the rest of the Racers.  I got myself checked in and then I was off to set up my home (aka tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, etc.).  As I walked over to join the rest of my squad, it was truly a beautiful sight, a sea of orange!  Oh, and a whole bunch of crazy awesome people, some who I knew a little bit and others I only knew their name.  It was fun to meet everyone one in person and to get lots of handshakes and hugs!  It was an exciting time and I felt at home already with my fellow B squad members.  I was eager to begin building relationships with those around me and to see what God had in store the rest of the week for both me and my squad.

I have lots of things to share with you all about my training camp experience and I also have some exciting updates to share with you as well.  Stay tuned!
