My time in South Africa is almost up now. I have really enjoyed the beauty here and the people are great. God is most definitely at work here and I am thankful that He let me be a small part of His work here. I have been able to be a part of many different ministries and I feel blessed to have been able to be a part of many such as street ministry, hospital ministry, schools, churches, youth/young adult ministries, and sports.
The one thing that has really been neat to see here while I have been in South Africa is the passion that the local Christians have to see their neighbours saved. They have a desire to take the Gospel next door and that is so wonderful to see. Missions starts at home. I think it is cool how the ministries that I have been able to be a part of here were started and have been looked after by local people who love Jesus and want their follow country men, women, and children to know and love Him too. As a missionary from Canada, it is great to be able to come along side local missionaries and see the fruit of what they are doing for those around them in Jesus’ name. To be honest, it does make me miss home but it also makes me more excited to see what other kinds of ministries are out there around the world. I am excited to be able to partner with more local people in the next 10 countries who’s heart desire is to serve and help lead their neighbours, friends, and families to the Lord Jesus.
I hope you will want to see your neighbours come to know Jesus as their personal Saviour. I hope you will have a desire to see your lost family and friends saved from a life of darkness. I hope you will take that minute to smile at someone, to say hello to someone you pass on the street or maybe have a heart to heart conversation with someone, whether you know them well or not. I have been stretched a lot this month outside of my comfort zone but it has been great. I am learning to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in moments like those in my life on the Race and the Lord has been blessing me for being obedient with peace and joy in my heart. Although I may never know what fruit came from my interaction with someone, long or short, but I trust that the Lord will use it for His good and He will be glorified through it.
Each of those moments are so important.
Sometimes I just stop and think…maybe I will be the only glimpse of Jesus that person will see in their lifetime.
I want to make every moment count.
