A while ago I had asked some of my friends to write something for my blog about our friendship and their thoughts about my up-coming trip. I would like to share their thoughts and stories with you.
Thank you to my friends who helped write this blog! 🙂

I have known Kira for about 3 years now and I am very thankful she has come into my life. Kira is always the person to walk around the room, say hi to everyone and sit down to chat with the person who seems a little lonely. I also know she is someone I can turn to if I need to talk because she genuinely cares. I think Kira will be a large blessing on her upcoming trip, World Race, because I see in her a passion to serve God and to serve others. I know that I would be proud to send Kira to tell others of God’s love because she not only can speak of it, but prove it through her actions.

I am proud to say that I have Kira as my friend. She is someone that I’ve been able to talk, share, pray, and experience life with. She has inspired and encouraged me to keep on going through the hardships with God’s power on more than one occasion. I’ve known her since before high school, and I’ve seen her passion for life, people, and most of all, God, blossom and grow through those years. She loves God with all that she is, this is evident in whatever or whoever Kira is involved in. When I heard that she’s going to go in this World Race, I was ecstatic and immediately told my family the good news! Going out on this adventure has been a huge step of faith, one that I believe God will bless. I will be praying for her over the course of these next two years as she sets out to do what she loves doing. Serving God.

I met Kira my first year helping out with youth. She was a senior youth at the time and you could see right away her love for others. Since this time Kira has grown-up in age and in spirit. It has been a pleasure getting to know her better at our young ladies bible study and now a great honour to have had her come along side me and lead among the female leaders on the youth ministry team at Oxford Baptist. Kira has been an amazing example of wide open faith to me. I doubt Kira would use the term wide open to describe herself, however to me you can see the Holy Spirit exude off her. No matter what she is doing, I have always been able to see the Father's work in her. I am so grateful for God placing her in my life to challenge and encourage me. She has an amazing heart for God! I was thrilled to hear that God had called her to go forth and minister to the world beyond her backyard. Much love and prayers always, Your friend, Emily

I've known Kira for most of my life. We were neighbours for a very long time and I remember playing in our backyards near every day when we were little. It's been close to 15 years and we are still good friends and I've watched her become a wonderful young woman with a fantastic future and a burning desire to serve the Lord, wherever He may take her. I think that the World Race needs someone like Kira, and Kira needs the World Race to really, truly become the woman God wants her to be. I can't think of a better person to serve the Lord in this way and I am very excited to hear about what she's learned, what she's become, when she returns from her mission. May your trip be an experience that changes your life forever Kira, and God bless you wherever you go.

I have known Kira for about 9 to 10 years; it wasn’t until a few years ago when we started to become close friends. We attended the same homeschooling group, youth groups, Churches and High school. Kira is probably my closest friend who I can go to for any kind of advice or support; she is someone who will tell you as it is, and even if you aren’t looking for that Christian advice she will give it to you anyways. She is not shy about having a relationship with God. I have had times when I talk with her thinking I don’t need Godly advice, but it isn’t until after I realise that I actually did need to hear those words and I thank God for her and her relationship with Him.
It must have been at least a year ago when Kira excitedly told me about The World Race. I thought that it was an amazing opportunity and sounded like an adventure. There was a little bit of talk about the trip after that, but it wasn’t anything intense because she wasn’t quite old enough, but the time gave her the chance to look into it more and see if that was where God wanted her to be. It wasn’t until a few months ago when I was in town visiting when she came up to me, her eyes dancing with excitement, and handed me a list. When I first saw the list I have to admit I was confused, and she could tell, I was trying to figure out why I was giving a list of countries. When I wasn’t able to connect the dots, she explained that those are the countries she was planning on going to with The World Race. That was when I had an ‘Oh Ya!’ moment remembering the mission trip she wanted to go on. After that she applied, and got accepted to the route she was praying to be on. As I have been watching and praying for her as she has been going through this whole process I can’t help having mixed feeling, mostly selfish feelings, I know I am going to miss her and the fact that I won’t be able to see her for almost a year. Cause I gotta say, a lot can happen in a year, and I’m going to miss having her there for whatever may happen. But, I think I can suffer for 11 months because I know that God is going to do AMAZING things through her. This trip is a trip of a life time, she is going to affect so many people along the way and she is going to grow stronger in God. I can’t wait to see the way she has been changed for God and to hear about her influence to everyone she meets along the way. To Sum everything up, God is going to do so many amazing things on her trip and I can wait to hear all about it!!!
