After spending 5 months in 5 different Asian countries, coming to Northern Ireland was like taking a breath of fresh air. Being in a place that speaks English and has many similarities to home has been amazing. My group and I has been serving with Causeway Coast Vineyard church in a beautiful town here called Coleraine. I have been able to be a part of many different ministries this month such as organizing a large warehouse, helping out in the foodbank, serving in the different Sunday morning church programs and helping run a week long children’s program called Destiny Island.
Even though I have been able to be a part of serving people here, I feel like I have been served and poured into by the people here even more so. I can’t even begin to count the number of times that I have been blessed by the people from the church this month. From BBQs to burrito parties to trips to see the many amazing sights around the area to simple but wonderful smiles and hugs, people here have been incredibly generous.
I feel like the Lord knew that I needed this month to do 2 things. The first is to give me great rest and refresh me to allow me to finish the next 3 months strong. I feel renewed and ready to head into these next months. The second is to see what it looks like to really serve others well. I came here expecting to serve the church, which i know I have been able to do, but I have been blown away with how they have serve me so well. The Lord has used this month to show me how a servant heart looks and I am ready to put the things I have learned into my daily lifestyle.
This month has been just amazing and refreshing and I can’t wait to continue to learn more about serving others well in the months and years to come.
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Mark 10:45
