I know I am not in Vietnam anymore, but I thought I should share some of these pictures so you all could see the different things I was able to do while I was there for about two weeks.
Below, is a picture of what I remember to be the largest room in The Independence Palace aka The Reunification Palace. They call this the Reunification Palace due to the reunion of the Northern & Southern Vietnam after the war. This was taken on Sunday, September 14. Praise: FREE TOUR!
This place was busy with tourists–many NOT American.
After visiting the old Palace, we had an ATL (Ask The Lord). Although the time was brief, it was nice to sit, pray, & see what God would have to show us individually. Here is where we ATL’ed.
There goes Marissa, talking to our translator & some students. We were able to visit this campus a couple times & have some really great conversations with the students there (aka the Future Leaders of Vietnam). Yes, we even played the “Wa” game with them!
Josh is so short!
I only got to visit this place one time. This section was a playing room & the next room–see rightside of picture–was the baby room. Before I helped-out here, I was in another area of the building, feeding & playing with some little children who were handicapped. Sorry I do not have a picture of the kids…I was not sure if I could take one at the time. I only this one right before we left.
Some of us got to go up to the roof of this science building.
Steep!
On one of our last nights there, our translator friends invited us to go to a birthday party. There close friend was turning 24 & they wanted us to celebrate it with him. We took moto’s to her house, then outside the city for pizza. They also planned to take us to a park afterwards to play games & eat snacks. Even though the rain came early & we had to leave the park we were playing in , the evening was amazing! Each one of them shared what they thought God was calling them to do with their lives after college! One person shared why he was studying to be a doctor, another said she felt the call to be a pastor, another girl had a heart for Chinese people…& so on! This was my most favorite day in Vietnam!
The End.
