You all don’t know this, but this is the second attempt to writing this blog. That’s right, I spent 2 hours last night writing almost the exact same thing..I hit submit and what happens? The window straight up closes on me. A little part of me died as I frantically searched for my hard work.. but no, couldn’t find it. So here we go, round 2.
If you’ve been on facebook recently you’ve probably seen my ‘111PEOPLE CHALLENGE’ I’m marketing right now. I stole the idea from Daina (support coach). The concept is to get 111+ people to donate 11+ dollars for my 11 countries/ 11 months World Race mission trip; say that 5 times!
I was at work on Tuesday (april 5) and decided this is something I should definitely try. It’s easy, affordable, and most importantly I can get the word out to all my facebook friends about this mission trip I’m about to partake in.
So I get home from work and begin creating the event. I decided to make it a true challenge and set the end date to Monday, April 11th, to coincide with my ‘11 theme’ of course. So ultimately that gives me 6 days to gain 111+ supporters! Currently, I have 45! Ironically enough, 11 away from being to the half way mark! (and if you just did the math, obviously 111 does divide equally, I rounded up!)
see! 45 attending!
If you watched my So This Is Kip video you would’ve learned that my family describes me as semi competitive. I, on the other hand, just think of it as stretching to the extreme, doing everything possible, to reach a goal that I have set for myself!; call it what you want.
So I just want to thank everyone for enabling my ‘competitive’ nature by making my challenge a success so far! Special thanks to everyone who is supporting me too! 111+ people donating their 11+ dollars is equivalent to almost 1 month funded while I’m on the field! I can’t tell you how thankful I am that you are making this happen!
Now that you’ve read that, if you’re wondering ‘how much does she have to raise to be fully funded?!’ well CLICK HERE to see my Support-o-meter broken down!
(none of the 111PEOPLE donations have been added yet; stay tuned!)
If you haven’t seen the event on facebook CLICK HERE to check it out!
And if you’ve seen it and want to make your 11+ dollar donation CLICK HERE
(side note: multiple people have asked if they can donate more than $11.
The answer of course is yes! I chose $11 because it’s affordable for us broke college students,
but absolutely any amount will never be turned down! Thank you for asking!)
Now that’s a lot of 'clicking'. Hopefully you’re still with me! (Actually, I think I’ll add one more.)
My family has requested[demanded] that I blog more frequently. So I’ve decided that I will come up with something fun/inspirational/funny/random every week now to appease them. If you’d like to receive notifications to read these epic adventures aka blogs well YOU KNOW THE DRILL.
This was me giving a thumbs up to my supporters last night before signing off.
It’s awkward to put it up again now that it’s a new day..
(but again, it’s only awkward for me because I’ve seen this all before)
Something new: (it’s all new to you because you didn’t see the old one,
can you tell I’m having a hard time with this!?)
TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE MADE A DONATION:
HERE IS A LIST OF 11 OPPORTUNITIES I WILL HAVE IN 11 COUNTIES/11 MONTHS
BECAUSE YOU ARE SUPPORTING ME!!:
1. building churches
2. fighting human trafficking
3. caring for the homeless
4. teaching English in schools
5. ministering through prayer
6. preaching in the streets
7. living with gypsies
8. providing orphans with homes
9. reaching out to prostitutes
10. feeding the hungry
11. evangelizing door-to-door
And finally (not new anymore), I’m reading in Deuteronomy right now and I just loved
what Moses prefaced here before talking to the Levites:
Listen, O heavens, and I will speak;

hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Let my teaching fall like rain

and my words descend like dew,

like showers on new grass,

like abundant rain on tender plants.

I will proclaim the name of the Lord.

Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
He is the Rock, his works are perfect,

and all his ways are just.

A faithful God who does no wrong,

upright and just is he.
-Deuteronomy 32:1-4
