Ever wonder what a day looks like on the Race? It always looks a little different day to day but here is a snap shot of what happened last Thursday working with the organization Supply and Multiply in Montrouis, Haiti.
6:30 am Wake up and work out!
Some of my team mates and I do a 45 minute work out with body weight exercises.

7:30 am Breakfast time!
A roll with peanut butter, and fresh mango and banana from our tree in the yard. I spend some time reading Proverbs and journaling. I then take a quick shower.

9 am Hurry up and wait.
We are ready to leave for ministry, but our translators are not here yet so we put worship music on and pray for the community until they arrive

10 am Walk to Ministry
Our translators have arrived so we leave for our 30 minute walk to the neighborhood where we will do ministry for the day. Once there, we split into three groups: two groups do “street care” (evangelizing and praying for people in the neighborhood) and one group stays to visit with the women at the Matthew 25 house (a home where four elderly women live and are taken care of)

10:30 am Street Care
My group did street care this morning. We talk to a shop owner who knows the Lord and asked for prayers that God would fulfill His promise to give her another son as her first son died. We then walk on and stop at another house and do listening prayer (where we ask God what He wants to tell us) with a man and his son. We encourage him in his walk with the Lord and pray with him. Another lady over heard us and asks for prayer. We pray for her high blood pressure, and talk to her kids who are iffy about their faith. Another lady walks by and asks for prayers of healing for her blind eye and for us to come back another day and pray around her neighborhood.

12 pm Walk home for lunch
We walk back to our home and have corn meal and bean sauce for lunch.

1 pm Rested and relaxed
I spend my afternoon playing cards with my squad mate, Colleen, journaling, Hammocking, reading and talking with team mates. We have weekly Journey Markers that are journaling and processing exercising which I also work on.

4:30 pm Bible Club
We walk back to the Matthew 25 house where the ministry holds a Bible study for all ages. We lead a lesson on God’s goodness and faithfulness.

6 pm Walk home and Dinner
Some of the students from the Bible study walk with us back home. We have a chicken drum stick with rice and beans for dinner.

7 pm Team time!
Everyday, we have a designated time set aside that our team sits together and gives each other feedback, constructive and encouraging, we pray, and is then followed by some activity. Sometimes it’s deep and spiritual like worshiping or doing listening prayer for each other and other times it is lighter like playing games. Tonight, we watched the movie, “She’s the Man” together by piling around a lap top.

9 pm Bed time!
