This past month one of my squad mates preached a sermon over identity, and who God says we are. I have often tried to figure out who I am, and how I fit into this big ole world. What is my job, who do I need to be in order to make this world a better place. I have desperately tried to figure that out for years, and up until last week I still did not know. As I sat alone on the floor I began to pray for God to reveal my identity to me. Who does he say I am, who does he want me to be?
This is what I heard.
I am Kimbra Nicole Thomas! I am a child of the most high God. I have the best father in the entire world because he created me. I am a lover not a fighter, and that is NOT a weakness. I have a tender heart for the people I love, the broken, and the needy. I am a giver. My smile overwhelms hearts, and my joy brings life to those around me. I am an overcomer. I was made to run free in the presence of God. My heart is for all of the nations, and I will not stop loving until my life on Earth is complete. I am strong, beautiful, and deserving of love. I am me, and I refuse to conform to the patterns of this world. I have broken the mold of the person I was told I needed to be in the world.
Do you know who you are, who God has called you to be? I promise no matter how old you are, or how much life you have lived God still has more he wants to reveal to you. His plans are never finished. You can always grow more, and become more. Let the father lead you. Let him reveal your TRUE identity to you. The identity in which he has created, not the world. Break all of your chains, and fully surrender. I would love to walk through this journey with anyone interested.
