Life right now is better than I could have ever imagined it would be. If you would have told me 5 years ago that I would be in Costa Rica living with 30 other people, working with sex exploitation victims, and exploring the earth on adventure days I probably would have laughed at you and told everyone I knew that you were…C-R-A-Z-Y. CRAZY!
I never would have imagined myself being here. I am learning so much about who God is and who he has created me to be. There are so many things that I love about being on the field and in Costa Rica, but one of my most favorite things we do here you can also do at home, or anywhere really!
I love that every morning before we do anything, including eating breakfast, we spend time with our father in the word. I love getting filled up with his word before I fill myself with rice, beans, and eggs (which is what we eat for breakfast every morning, except Fridays—we get pancakes on Fridays.) I sit on the swing on our back porch with my bible, a pen , and occasionally a cup of coffee, and I start by just listening to the Lord, and having a conversation. I have found that I connect with Him most when I am outside with his creation.
Yesterday was adventure day and a few of my squad mates and I went to Manuel Antonio National Park. We spent the morning hiking through the jungle, and saw sloths, and iguanas, mongoose, and I even saw a humpback whale from a view point along the trial. It was incredible to say the least. We ate lunch on the beach and spent the afternoon swimming and relaxing. I love to float in the ocean, letting the waves carry me. If you listen close enough you can hear the sand shifting under you, and small rocks clink together as the waves move them around. It is so calming.
I love our world, and everything he put in it. It has taught me so much about who he is. I love that he is so intricate with his creations. He didn’t have to make thousands of different species of trees, and more thousands of different species of animals. He didn’t have to make every single tree, animal, shell, cloud, and even rock different but he chose to. In Genesis 1 it talks about how after God created every one of these things “He SAW that it was GOOD.” Think about it for a second, he looked at his creation with his eyes, and saw that it was good. It’s so cool that we were created in his image and can do the same thing—we too can see that his creation is so good. We just have to look at it to see its beauty.
I have been spending a lot of my time with God in the mornings looking at his creation, especially all the colorful birds that fly around the back yard, and the squirrels that run on the fence, and how the grass makes patterns if you stare at it long enough. I love that our Father loves us so much that he gave us so many wonderful things to look at and enjoy with him.
Romans 1: 20 says, “ For since the creation of the world God’s invincible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen…”
I encourage you to spend some time with God in his creation; admiring all that he has made. You will see his goodness in the land of the living, literally. Go stand with other living things and see how good they really are!
XOXO,
KIMBO!
GO LOVE OUR EARTH!!!!!
Also special thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey and gotten me this far! I could never thank you enough!
I am still in need of financial support if you feel called to donate you can click the support button on the home page of my blog! You can always support my squad and I by keeping us in your prayers. Pray for our hearts and minds to be opened to all that the lord is doing, and the hearts and minds of everyone we meet to be open to receive what the holy spirit is telling them!
