WHAT’S UP PARTY PEOPLE?

I am at Launch right now in Atlanta, preparing to leave the country for nine months! In 1 day, I will be leaving Atlanta heading to COSTA RICA! Ahhhhhh!! There are so many different emotions circulating, but God is already moving!

The first day of launch, while our parents were in their first session, a few of my squad mates and I were going to grab some last minute things from Walmart. We left the hotel with the nearest Walmart on our GPS; it was about half a mile away. We started walking that way, and right before we got there we came to this gate, quickly realizing that the Walmart we were walking to was inside of the Delta headquarters in Atlanta. Needless to say, we could not get to it. We sat down on a curb to figure out our options, and decided to call an Uber. Well, then we realized that if we were going to pay for an Uber, we may as well go to TARGET, because, well its Target! We waited 20ish minutes for our Uber driver, and headed on our way.

When we arrived, we did what anyone else does in target: we piddled around. We tried on all the sunglasses, picked out a fanny pack, got some nice packing cubes, and went to the isle of all the blessings: the COFFEE isle of course. While my friends Cass and Syd were picking out the kind of coffee they wanted, my friend Brittney decided to teach me this funny dance in the middle of an isle. We practiced this dance and decided that we were ready to show our friends all of our hard work (lol). We got set and this lady walked by, and asked if we were about to put on a performance. We were being quite the ding-dongs dancing in target, but we started talking to this woman. She saw the Young Life shirt my friend Nathanael was wearing and began telling us about how her nephew and niece were a part of Young Life and had gone on many missions’ trips to lots of different places. One thing led to the next, and then told her about the World Race, and how we were fixing to leave for Costa Rica in a few days.

YOU GUYS, she straight up subscribed to all of our blogs, and then paid for all of our stuff for us. We found out that she has a bus ministry and brings students to and from school every day, she even takes them on field trips, and gets snacks for all of them on their birthdays! She was such a bright soul, and an incredibly kind stranger to be so generous! One of the things she said that really stuck out to me was that, “In a world so full of crime, it was so encouraging to see young people out doing God’s work.” We need more of that, we are the next generation, and we have the power to change the way the world works, let us stop wasting our time, or waiting for the right time. Let’s be a generation that amazes God! I want to challenge you to show another stranger kindness this week!

Go be BOLD!

XOXO

Kimberlyn!
