I am a huge Cleveland Cavaliers fan. One of the first of many “bad” jokes I made at Training Camp was introducing myself by saying that I came from the Land of Champions. The response I got was silence. Oops. I guess more people are interested in football than basketball. Go Cavs!

LeBron James has a huge endorsement deal with Nike. Nike comes out with powerful 1-2 word phrases to summarize LeBron’s career. When he first came on the scene as a professional basketball player, the shirts said Witness. When he came returned to Cleveland after a hiatus in Miami, the word was Forgiven. After the LeBron and the Cavaliers won the 2016 NBA Championship ending the drought of 52 years, the phrase is Always Believe. (You bet I bought that t-shirt!) How fitting that those two words can summarize exactly how I feel for more than one reason.

In less than a week I will be joining my 54 other squad mates in Atlanta, GA to hop on a plan to India. I left Training Camp feeling a sense of peace. I knew that going on this trip was where God wanted me. There weren’t really any feelings of doubt or worry about what I had committed to. It’s been a month since Training Camp and that feeling still remains strong. I have started to say good-bye to family and friends. It’s been hard for me. I am more worried about will happen over the year with them, not me. I won’t always be within calling or texting distance. I have always enjoyed supporting others and just being there for them. I just want to let you all know that I will be praying for you. In your times of loneliness and failures I will always believe in you. You are all great people and I am so honored to have your support.

As I embark on this journey my hope and prayer is that we will continue to always believe. We will always believe that God is our Savior. We will always believe that God loves us. We will always believe that God is with us. We will always believe that God is good. Please know that God forgave me, a sinner. He forgives you. He desires to know you. I invite you all to join me on this journey through this blog but also as a part of the Kingdom of Christ.

Much love,

Kim

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
