After spending the night in East London, we had to get an early start. We were determined to make it to Cape Town that night, and our previous detour put us a little behind schedule. We had about 12hrs or driving ahead of us, and a few stops to make along the way.

Our first stop was in Jefferey’s Bay for lunch. We wern’t sure if we would have time to do it, so we did not call in advance. But since we hit Jefferey’s right around lunch time, we just had to give Kelly a call and see if she could meet us for egg sandwiches on the beach. Fortunately, she answered and came right down and found us. It was great to see her again. She seemed so at peace. We chatted a little about the plans she has for the next few months, and about or little road trip. She had no idea we were even traveling.

We did not have much time to spend there, but it was nice just to see her and give her a hug. We do miss her.

I had been taking my turn driving for a while, and we still had one more stop to make. We needed to get there before the sun set, so it was a race against the clock. fortunately, we made it in perfect time. What was our next stop? Bungee jumping of course!

South Africa is home to the world’s higest bungee jump, and it just happened to be on our way, so we couldn’t drive past it without stopping. Eric, Mary, Michelle, and Mallorie could not resist the temptation to take the plunge. Due to the $80 price tag, Jake and I enjoyed the spectacle from the observation deck.

We all enjoyed it though, and we finnished just in time to catch another incredible sunset as we drove off toward Cape Town. We still had a long way to go, and to make matters worse, it began to rain.

Fortunately, Jake was driving this shift. The visability was very difficult, and it was an exhausting drive for him. Several hour later we finally pulled into Cape Town.

There were two teams there waiting for our arrival. Zeo had gone down there at the beginning of the month, and Daughters of Zion joined them at the end of our kids camps.

If was good to see everybody again, especialy those from Zeo. We had not seen anybody from B squad since Swaziland a month ago. Some of Zeo have continued on their own little adventure, but a few of the girls stayed in Cape Town.

Of course, Cape Town is beautiful as well. It seems this whole country is just amazing. Tom and Cindy and thier daughter are great too. It has been a real blessing to stay with them. I can see that God planned this stop as part of our journey for a reason. My next blog explains a little more about what God is doing here.

We are considering adding a day to our trip so we can enjoy another day of rest here before hitting the road for the trip back to Pretoria.
