Every day around 9:30am we gather after breakfast to walk to nearby Tumpa. There are no Christian churches in Tumpa, so that is our mission. We have begun our door to door walks, just getting to know the people and letting them know who we are and why we are in their town.

I have meet a few teenage girls that I adore. Pilar was the first. She is a bit shy, but immediately stopped us so she could run inside and get her Bible. She had some questions and wanted to take notes. She is so sweet. She also asked us to come and help her with her English homework.

The next day, I met Danila. She happens to be a friend of Pilar. Much more outspoken, she had many good questions for us. We spent quite a while sitting and talking with her. She has so much compassion and wants to see her friends come to Christ. She asked us to come to her school and invite her friends to church.

I am so encouraged by these girls. The other night, they were asking us when they should be baptized. A few of them decided it is something they want to do, so they went to talk to the pastor. We didn’t even have to go with them. They are so eager to learn.

We have made arrangements to start a girls Bible study at one of their friends house, Mariella. I am so excited aboout this opportunity. I know God has been pushing me to practice using my teaching gift. I have never really done it, but now is a great time to start. After all, what good are our spirirtual gifts if we don’t use them?

Pilar’s mother has also invited a few of us to breakfast tomorrow morninig. I am excited to have a chance to share with her as well.

There are a lot of other great things happening too. Some members were invited to a home to eat Guinnea Pig, and help work in the fields. We also had an outreach at the plaza in Tumpa on Saturday. About 40 people came and heard Eric share the gospel. Many responded afterward in small group conversations. We have a lot of follow-up to do.

One of the teams is heading out to another village tonight. We will each take turns going out into other villages for a week. Our team will be going to the most remote village on the last week we are here. I am very excited to see where that will be. I forget the name of the village, but I know it starts with an S.

Please continue praying for all of the teams. We have has some illness circulating since arriving in Peru. Please pray for our health and perseverence.

We love you all at home. Please keep in touch, we cherish your comments and emails.
