This is a letter I received from our contact in Cambodia. They began construction of a new school building in their yard while we were there. Construction has gone really fast but it has gone over budget. They are really hoping to get the school finished by January, so I offered to post their letter to see if we can help them out.
We’re getting ready. We are faced with pressures and occasional stress about attending to every single detail before we leave. We wanted every bill to be taken cared of before we leave. We are getting ready for our turn over work to our staff. We are excited to go home at the same time, kind of worried since we don’t have enough money, we used most of our personal money to pay some bills and some materials for the building The building looks almost like a classroom now. We will still be needing more money for the finishing and the painting of the rooms as well as putting the windows, doors and the partitions. I (Fhonkie) now completely understand how hard it is to run a ministry. All by God’s grace. Please pray for us, specially with our finances situation as well as our time in the Philippines that God will meet us that we would experience him in a special way.
Below is the breakdown of the construction expenses:
($3000) Total Budget Projected the original plan of the building should be made from wood and coconut leaves for the roof but didn’t push through due to termites in the area. That’s why we changed it to concrete building.
($2750) All materials needed, like bricks, cement, soil, sans, steel, roof/tin, wood, etc.
($300) Love gift to Teen Missions International for constructing the steel foundation
($550) Payment for the construction workers. We decided to hire construction workers coz the Teen Mission International group only comes every Saturday. The construction of the building became so slow that we wish these classrooms will be ready in January 2008.
Total expenses made to date: $3600
Total donations received: $2750
We’re still in need of some more monetary assistance to fully complete the classrooms. Please pray for the full release of His provision.
