I was watching a scary movie the other week. I normally don’t watch them because they freak me out. For whatever reason I rented the movie then proceeded to watch it by myself. Most of the movie was watched on mute and some parts I fast forwarded through. It was really hard for me to watch the movie without knowing how it would end. Once it was over and I saw how it ended I was ready to go back and watch it again. When you know the end it makes the scary parts easier to watch.

Life can often be like a scary movie. We sometimes want to mute the noise that puts fear in us; we want to fast forward through the suffering and the pain. Just this last Monday Caden, the 8 month old daughter of a couple at my church, went to be with Jesus. It was a shock to everyone. While she was alive she was such a blessing to every life she touched, even though it wasn’t for very long. On the other hand, my grandmother died a few months ago. She was 85 and lived a wonderful life loving Jesus and her family. Both lives glorified God. Both deaths were hard. But God is so good. He has not revealed all of the little details, but He has already revealed the end! We can read all throughout the Bible and especially in Revelation that He is victorious and those who trust Him will be standing by His side! Caden and my grandmother are both with Jesus and soon, we, who trust Jesus, will join them!
