I don’t think that when I woke up this morning I expected what this day would bring! We all met at Raul’s and crammed into 2 vehicles, there were over 30 people in a jeep and a pickup truck. It was a tight fit. We stopped many times and once we got off the highway and thought we were there we had the worst part to go. I don’t know how many times the truck seemed to be tipping over or had to go through the river. We eventually arrived and had even more to walk. Once we got to what Raul had said was a farm, we realized it was actually an open spot in the middle of the woods. We sang, Matt shared God’s word, then we had some quiet time alone. For lunch we had to wait almost 2 hours for yuca, salomi, and veggies to be cooked. It was worth the wait. While waiting some took walks, hiked up the hill and then most of us did the knot game. We had so many people…it was fun! Plus it was an extra challenge that we did’t all speak the same language!
After lunch we sang more songs and Tonya shared a message on identity. Then we prayed over the members of the church individually…the presence of God poured down in a mighty way! Everyone was blessed through it…we prayed for healing and prayed for the members who were dealing with fear. God spoke to us about what was going on in their lives, and when we asked them about it they told us the situations that they were in. We really took the time to encourage them and to pray blessings over their lives. It took almost 2 hours, but the time flew by like it was nothing!
When we were finished we had another adventure waiting for us…we went to load the vehicles and found the motorcycle had a flat tire (i did’t even know there was a motorcycle with us). So the plan was to put the bike in the back of the pickup truck and people would walk. It took a while to find a rope to tie it down so as we waited the boys played baseball with a stick and an orange. When they hit the orange it splattered all over the place. Once we tied down the bike we all got in. Janzel was on the bike which was very dangerous, and the rest of us held on tightly with some of them standing. We zig zagged back through the jungle of trees and bounced in and out of river beds…all the while the most amazing sun set was in the distance reminding us that God was in the midst of the craziness! It was a rough ride, but then we stopped and picked up more people! We thought it was a tight ride on the way there! At least 21 people were in the truck plus a motorcycle! Let’s just say it was an interesting ride! I enjoyed the ride! The stars were bright, the air was fresh (most of the time), and none of us could move so we didn’t have to worry about falling out! Oh the joys of the World Race!!! Don’t worry we arrived back home safe and sound! My only injuries were from mosiquitos and other bug bites. It has only been one week that we have been here and I am amazed at the way feel so at home! I love this place! God has blessed us so much! Joy, peace and comfort abounds in my heart! I praise God for the trials and His utmost Trust worthiness!!!
