I’m working with a church called New Life Fellowship. It is a 700-800 member church in Phnom Penh. There is so much going on! Some of it includes 3 services on Sunday, a Wednesday night service, a Saturday night youth service and prayer meetings on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. They have mens, women’s’, children’s and marriage ministries. They have a children at risk program, Joy Club, Joy Class, a Healing Home Ministry, Bridge of Light, Feeding programs, a media department, Office Skills Training Center, English classes, New Life School, and a leadership training school. Those who have been trained are not just sitting around, they are going out to the many provinces in Cambodia. 62 churches have been planted in surrounding areas. Plus they have teams in 180 provinces in the process of planting churches. On any given day, if you go into the church office you will find quiet offices with only a few people around because the pastors are out doing ministry, either in the provinces or some of the many things that are happening. They have around 90 on staff who are really visionary. They have many foreign staff and many short-term groups that come through. The short-term teams really help keep the staff doing the ministry that they need to be doing. This month our ministry has been to support the staff of New Life Fellowship in any way possible. We are a big encouragement and relief to them. We have done an art project, finishing the wall behind the stage area; organized; lead PE classes; done data base entry for CEH and Children at Risk; taught English classes (one favorite of mine); babysat (another favorite!); and we are collecting info for an updated website. Plus, we have a media team going out to different ministries to make 3-5 minute video clips for the church. We have been busy and as a team we are only together in the evenings, because we are in so many different directions. We love the church. We love the ministry we are taking part in. Please pray for the church! The church has been multiplying and growing at an incredible rate! God is moving! In a country where less than 1% are Christians, the growth and excitement are huge! Pray for me, as well, they have said that most people have come to Christ through the youth services (which are amazing!) and the English classes. Noah, Emily and I are teaching a conversational class which has been growing daily and has almost overflowed out of the room we are in! Pray that we be able to build relationships with the university students and be able to present the gospel to them in a way that they understand and will consider. Also pray about where we are going in May. We have made some contacts that we are looking into and are very promising! Pray for clear guidance!
