Training Camp in a nutshell: Damp tent living in fifty degree weather at the foothills of appalachia (way to much Dew..yuck), living in amazing community with believers from across the states (as well as canada and aussie!), worshiping, dancing, growing, loving, crying, and laughing, as well as eating some pretty interesting food.
I have been living my life for about a little over a year with the mantra “The mission starts now. The mission field is everywhere you go.” It is like Charles Spurgeon said, “Either you’re a missionary or an imposter.” I’ve always tried hard to be self aware of my problems, so as to treat the problem and not just the symptoms. Knowing that training camp was coming, I tried to prepare myself by dealing with some of my ‘issues’ beforehand. You have to deal with your own junk before you can help others deal with theirs. While I was trying to condense my emotional baggage, there was still important things to be revealed and dealt with that could only have come up at Training camp. God showed me so many things, and taught me a lot. First, that God does talk to me, communication is not a one-way street, it goes both ways, and learning how to practice Listening Prayer is something I definitely want to do and grow in (if you want to know more about this, email/message me!). Furthermore, God told me how much he loves me as his daughter, and how proud he is of me.
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb; before you were born, I set you apart.”
-Jeremiah 1:5
I was also faced with some doubts that I had, one being about God’s ability to heal us physically, and I cried out to him to help my unbelief. He is always faithful, and has shown me so much, by people telling me their testimonies of healing, and I mean my own story is a testament to how he heals our hearts. God is the great physician, if he comes and heals our hearts, takes out the stone and gives us a heart of flesh, why would we think he couldn’t heal our sicknesses and infirmities as well? You have to be careful when you say that “God doesn’t work that way anymore” or “I just dont think he performs miracles like that” because you are putting God in a box, and worshiping something else than the one true God, who has NO limitations.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” -Psalm 147:3
“He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering”
-Mark 5:34
