Well I finally found some Wi-Fi! Here is a blog for you 🙂

After four long days of travel, consisting of many hours crammed on an airplane and buses, and sleeping in an airport, I’m happy to say we’ve made it to our destination in South Africa! It’s beautiful countryside here in Cape Town. There are mountains and the ocean, with the city nestled in between. Its quite lovely. The weather is also perfect. It’s summer here, so its warmer but with a constant refreshing ocean breeze.

Our team got split up into three different host homes, but that’s understandable since we now have a team of eight. I am staying with two of my teammates Katie and Corinne in a cozy house with our host family! They are such kind, warm people and have really made us feel welcome. Don’t worry mom, I’m being taken good care of!! 🙂 they have two daughters, close to my sisters ages, so that makes it remind me a lot of home. There have already been delicious new things to try, and its all been so good. After lunch, we even played a game together, similar to Catch Phrase. Oh! Also, we have to be careful of the baboons!! They are like the equivalent to raccoons at home I think, in that they kind of risk around wherever, get into things, make a mess… overall very large, messy, and mean critters. I have already had the privilege of seeing two, my first day here.

Tomorrow we go to school. Our host “mom” is a teacher there. We will be doing most of our ministry at the school this month. I am excited for this month and all that God is going to do in it! I already love South Africa.
