God has been teaching me a lot lately.

First, fundraising is hard. It is hard to ask people to give their money that they worked for, to you. However, I realized that thinking of it this way is all wrong. Firstly, nothing we have is really our own anyway, I mean, you cant take it with you when you die. Also, all good things come from God; he gives them to us to use wisely. Sure, I believe he wants us to have good things(and by 'things, I don't limit that to mean material, but like joy, peace, etc) but I also believe he wants us to contribute to the furthering of the Kingdom. Second, I cant imagine a better cause than the Gospel, the cause that can save a person's soul for eternity. There is nothing more valuable than the seed of the gospel that will get planted in 11 different countries because of the mission that I have the privilege of being a part of.

Second, is diligence in prayer. I have noticed how prayer truly can turn the night to day, God really does hear us and answer, even if its not the way we though he would.  He knows what is best for his children, and I trust him to provide. So I have tried to persevere in my prayer life, praying more, because God answers, and it's allowed me to see him in a whole new way. He loves us so very much.

Third, is patience. I have never been a very patient person, at all. However, throughout the fundraising process, it requires much patience and trust. These kinds of numbers don't show up overnight, but thankfully I have been excited and content with the pace that things are going. Similarly, patience in prayer, because while God could give me what I asked for exactly when I want it, and he does at times, lately he has been making me wait, which is good. Patience is something I am definitely going to need while out in the mission field, and just in general, patient people seem more peaceful and content. I want to learn to be a patient person.

So God is teaching me a lot, and I hope I am being a good student!
