I must admit, I have halfway written about half a dozen blogs over the past few months, but I have been experiencing a phenomenon I'd like to call:

Blog Block

Similar to writer's block, except concerning blogs. Blog is such a funny word….and I digress…

To update you a little bit, I just spend the summer working at a lovely place known as Camp Currie. I had some great times and made some great friends, and thankful for the time I was able to spend there, but now things are about to get serious as I hit the books and bust out some awesomeness for my last semester of college at good ole Murray State. I will be proud to be a Murray State Alumni. Go Racers! I humbly ask that you say a prayer for me, that I can keep my priorities straight this semester and focus on 1) Keeping my eyes on Christ   2) Digging deeper into the Word   3) Forming and maintaining relationships, because at the end of the day it is PEOPLE that matter most. Also that I would find a job and that God provides for my financial needs accordingly.

On another note, it has come to my attention that some people think there are better ways that the gospel should be preached, or that some ways are better than others. Not so my friends, not so. Evangelism has many faces and I am here to tell you that none is better than the other. Whether you are out to form relationships with people and then share with them, or you are going up to strangers, or street preaching, or sharing with a family member or long time co-worker, one type of way is not better than the other, but except that in every moment of opportunity we cease the chance to share the good news and hope of our Lord!

Paul talks about this to the Phillipians during his imprisonment.
"Now I want you to know, Bretheren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel…most of the bretheren, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear. Some, to be sure, are preaching Christ out of eny and strife, but some also from good will; the latter do it out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel; the former do it out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives, thinking to cause me distress in my imprisonment. What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed and in this I rejoice." Phillipians 1:12-18

God is sovereign and has the power and ability to use any seed that is planted. Because at the end of the day we have to remember, it really doesn't have much to do with us, friends. Yes, God may choose to use us as vessels for his will, but at the end of the day it is God who calls us to himself and causes the growth.

"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day." John 6:44
"All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him." Matt 11:27
"What then is Apollos? and what then is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything but God who causes the growth." 1 Corinthians 3:5-8 (but I'd suggest reading all of chapter 3, time permitting)

God loves us and He is going to take care of us. I am so glad that we can serve such an amazingly wonderful Creator and Father. He may be beyond anything that I can imagine, but his love is real and tangible and I am so exceedingly thankful for his hand at work in my life!!!
