THANK YOU!!
I didn’t know what to expect when I started this whole journey of support raising. I do it for a living and I don’t have any problem asking companies to part with their money for a worthy cause. But when I started I was a bit uncomfortable asking for me. I have to raise a lot of support to be gone for a year. How could I possibly raise enough? Well everytime I go in to check my support and check to see where I’m at, I am blessed. And I know that there are many others who are planning on giving which makes me confident that I will not only hit my goal but exceed it. So here we are so far as of June 30th.
$4,035 – in account
$3,995 – monthly commitments
$8,030 – total contributions
$8,000 – left to raise
That is an amazing accomplishment to have raised this much so quickly! My goal is to have my goal met with all gifts and commitments in by the end of December before I leave. I want to be able to concentrate soley on the ministry that will be taking place and not how I’m going to raise more money! 🙂 Thank you sooo much for your faithfulness!
I ask those who are still deciding to just continue to pray about it. God will direct you and if He asks you to give just remember that He will provide for you. Consider possibly giving a monthly donation so you can give less (but more) over a longer period of time. Just know that no gift is too small and all goes to glorify God. To help break it down this is what I would need in monthly support.
2 – $100 monthly
3 – $50 monthly
5 – $25 monthly
I have also had people ask me to list things I need as they might be able to help in that area. Here goes it:
Sarong, travel alarm clock, money belt, outlet converter, combination travel locks, earplugs, small first aid kit, mess kit, small pillow, sleeping bag liner, at least 2 flash drives (8 mg), headphone splitter for ipod so more than one person can listen at a time, Bible dictionary (small), sleeping bag, rain flap for backpack, bandanas, Nalgene water bottle, headset with microphone for the computer. There are some other items, but I’ll need to get those on my own (like small laptop).
I know that I am learning to rely on God during this time. I am looking for a second job to help pay for my expenses and gear and am not finding anything. I’ve received no calls whatsoever. Now I know things are very tough here in Michigan, but I didn’t think getting a retail job would be difficult. The questions keep running through my head – how am I going to pay for everything? How am I going to pay off my credit card before I leave if I don’t get a second job? I want control and God says trust me. So I continue to trust Him. But if getting a second job is not what He wants then it won’t happen and I know that all will come together and be taken care of because this trip is all God.
Thank you all for your support, your love and especially your prayers.
I love you all and am so excited to be your hands and feet for Jesus.
