Hello from Gainesville, Georgia! About a month and a half ago I loaded my car and drove down from Knoxville to begin my time at the Center for Global Action as an apprentice for Adventures in Missions. Although I miss family and friends back in Knoxville, I feel strangely at home here. The close-knit community and the women that I live with are incredible, and I’m constantly being challenged in how to love them better.

Our schedule as apprentices is pretty neat. We get to start off the work week with the rest of the Adventures in Missions staff on Monday mornings worshipping together before everyone goes to their desks to work. We then have half of the day to work in our apprenticeship and the other half of the day to work in our track. My favorite part of being in an apprenticeship with a Christian organization is the fact that we have a scheduled worship time and prayer is essential to everything that is done throughout the organization. Jesus is the focus of everything in this place of business, which not too many businesses can say that.

My favorite week here in Gainesville so far was last week. I had the opportunity to take part in World Race Training Camp for the racers launching this upcoming January. I was on the training team for one of the squads, which means seven other World Race alumni and myself got to build relationships with this squad, pray over them, form teams for the field, and just have fun with them. It was a long, busy week, but well worth it. Just to witness how much a squad can build a bond in a week and watch them minister to each other is beautiful. The presence of the Holy Spirit was so heavy you could feel God’s love in the room especially during times of worship and ministry. Last week got me excited for January. I’m excited to follow the racers that I was with last week during this next year and see what the Lord does through them.

I’m still quite a bit short of my last financial deadline. I need $1635 by November 1st to finish my time here as a part of CGA. I ask that you prayerfully consider donating to Adventures in Missions to help me meet the deadline. It seems almost impossible in such a short amount of time, but I have faith that the Lord will provide. Donations made to Adventures are tax deductible and can be made by clicking the “Support Me” tab on the left side of the screen.
