We were so fortunate this month to do ministry alongside Outpour Movement. Outpour Movement ministers to Burmese refugees in Thailand. The first week we stayed in Maesot, which is a few miles from the Burma/Myanmar border. We stayed above “Famous Rays” restaurant, which is their burger joint that helps provide for the refugees that they minister to. It was so much fun to join them in ministry. We didn’t have a specific thing that we did each day, but we got to simply do life with the missionaries there. Some days that looked like teaching English to kids in a children’s home, and some days it was cleaning signs around the city and ministering to the people the Lord placed in front of us while doing so. It was a great experience and the missionaries there really took time to pour into us as well.

Our mode of transportation in Maesot was bicycles. We biked everywhere; driving next to cars, moving and parked, on main roads (including the highway) was scary at times, but so much fun and a great workout! In the mornings for breakfast we would eat at a restaurant called “Lucky Tea”, located in the Muslim community. Two sisters worked in the restaurant and their names were See and Saw. That was one of my favorite parts of the day. It was cool to look around while eating breakfast and see Muslims, Christians, and Buddhist monks all eating under the same roof.

We also spent a week in Mae La Noi, with an incredible Thai family. While there, we did programs at schools sharing the Gospel. It’s amazing to me that there, in Buddhist schools, they allow us to come and share the Gospel during school hours. In the USA, that would never be allowed. The week in Mae La Noi was a good week of being away from Internet and having time to really connect with each other as a team. It was also a great time for squatty potty practice…I never thought I would be so excited to see a real toilet after that week. We are now back in Chiang Mai to meet as a squad before going to Cambodia for month 6…time’s flying! I’m also about $1300 short of being fully funded and the deadline is at the end of December. If you want a last minute tax write-off, now is the perfect opportunity! Simply click the “Support Me” tab on the left side of the page and give as much as you feel led! Below are a few pictures from the month.
