Wow! It’s crazy to say that I’m here at launch, about to leave the US in a day for an entire year! I had nine months to prepare for the race and they flew by. Today I had lunch with my parents and we said our goodbyes .It’s becoming a lot more real.

I’ve been reading World Racers’ blogs for over two years now, and it’s surreal to think that I will now be one of those people that is writing the blogs on the field. I’ve got to be honest. When I think of all the natural abilities I’ve been given, writing isn’t one of them. I never really kept a journal growing up and I never had a desire to write my feelings out on paper, which I’m now wishing I did. I love to read the blogs of World Racers and I like to see how God is moving not only in the racers’ lives, but also how their blogs touch so many of us reading them. SO… this year one of my goals is to get better with my writing. I realize how important blogging is to the race and I want you to know about all of the experiences I am having this year. Not only that, but I hope it also moves you in the same way that I was when I read those of other racers.

In a few days we will be in Guatemala! I will be journaling regularly and blogging, and hopefully in a few months, blogging will be my newest talent! My next blog will be from Guatemala, so get ready! I sure am! By the way, if you have any writing tips for me, I will gladly take them!
