This morning I woke up because I was freezing cold and there was a very loud man blaring his voice across a loud speaker. Thinking it was about 6am I looked at Jessica and said…”are you kidding me” (this has become a very common phrase between us) I asked her what time it was and…it was 10:30. I couldn’t believe it. I don’t think I have slept that late since I started this trip. I have to admit, it was very nice and I’m sure it was much needed since my body didn’t seem to mind it too much.

After waking up I went to room 402 where Friske and Laura were and found out that they had only been up about 30 minutes, so I didn’t feel so bad anymore.

I ventured my way to my bathroom to take a shower and could not figure it out. Things are so crazy and different here. So, I go and get our hotel maid that is so cute and so funny and try my best to explain to her my situation. She in return explains to me in Chinese and when I don’t understand she explains again. Thinking that since I can’t speak Chinese maybe I can read it, she proceeds to write it down in Chinese characters. (This has become too common for us.)

After this, I decide and she decides to give up and I go to Paul’s room to take a shower since we know it works. We have 3 rooms in this hotel and find ourselves all taking showers in 1 bathroom…go figure.

After that adventure, Friske and Laura decide to attempt to order food from the hotel restaurant (since the time we decided to venture off we got a whole chicken) but this time they want it in our room. Oh boy…this should be fun was the thought going through our head and come to find out it was actually the easiest thing we have done yet. They completely understood what we wanted and we were able to have a Chinese picnic lunch in my room.

Since our morning was full of fun and laughter I decided that it would be a good time to talk to daddy for a while, so I crawled back into my warm bed and talked to daddy. During this time he continued to speak to me and even reveal things to me about myself that I didn’t see. Some things that I need to change and work on and I didn’t know was there. It was a great time, it was an answer to many questions that I had running through my head.

I wanted to share some of these things with my friends and family, so I decided to go to the internet cafe. While I was there, Friske and Laura come in and so excited and laughing hysterically. They proceed to tell us their story…

So they are walking down the street when these group of girls start yelling “hello hello” so they turn around to say hello and the girls motion for them to come over. They go over and the girls take them in and they have pictures made in a photo booth with them.

After this, Friske and Laura tell them we are having a party at 7 and they should come. (Earlier in the day we decided to have a worship time at 7.) The girls are excited and say they will come.

We go back to the room and get ready for the party. I mean…we go all out for these girls. We have cake, cokes, balloons, party happys, everything. 7 o’clock rolls around and they are not there, so nervously we start to look out the window to see if they are really coming and we see them going down the street…in the opposite direction, so we send Friske to go run after them. That she did…she went running after them (I have to add this was a pretty funny sight.)

After all that running, we find out they were going to get more people to come with them. They all come to our room and we have our party…and a party we had…there were over 15 people in our room by the end of the night. The girls were there, their friends were there, one of the girls that works at the internet cafe came, another girl we ran into the minute we got here came, the maid came, AND the hotel manager and his family was there. I tell you it was crazy.

We sat around playing talked and got to know one another, we sang worship songs as Friske played her guitar, AND we are going to one of the girls house at 2 o’clock Sunday, AND we are having another party Monday night.

This is so crazy and we know that it is all a daddy thing. I praise him for the divine appointments that he is putting in front of us, all we have to do is ask and be faithful. He is so good and every day I am more and more surprised.

I do have to add…Paul was a true sport in the “girl” party and if you look very very closely in the group picture you can see his head above the girl on the right in the brown jacket.
