So…today we leave the Internet Café to come “home” and have an afternoon full of ministry. Well, on our way home it started to pour…again. It has been raining here for the past two days. When you look on the right side of the road all of the fields are flooded. (Don’t worry where we are staying is on the left side of the road!!!)

We get home and decide to not go do ministry. The rain is so bad everything is flooded, it is very muddy, no electricity (no extension cords in the rain), and all of the people are cozy inside their houses.

Come to find out we are in a Tropical Storm!!!! It has been raining for two days straight and they predict that it will be raining for at least two more.

We decide to have a much needed afternoon of rest and relaxation. Jessica and I sat in our room and lay on the bed and had story time by reading The Heavenly Man. Laura came in and was an angel and gave me a much needed massage. Paul and Hugh took naps. Jessica, Laura, and Cory sat outside and listened to the rain and played the guitar. A very restful afternoon…

We have been trying to come up with a way to say “thank you” to the pastor and his family and their drama team for all that they have done for us. The Mexican culture is not very “big” into you doing things for them, so we came up with the idea that we would cook dinner for them.

After all seven of us going to Wal-mart (can you believe it a Wal-mart in

Mexico) we got everything we needed to make dinner. So…Jessica, Jessica, Cory, and I took over the Pastor’s kitchen and made dinner. We had lasagna, salad, bread and brownies.

Our “American” meal was a hit. They were so funny to sit and watch. They had no idea how to fix their salad and they had never seen or heard of lasagna before. I do have to say though at the end, the chocolate was a hit. Tonight was definitely a night of firsts for the Mexicans, but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We had a blast laughing at them and making fun of them and the best part is they didn’t know because they didn’t know what we were saying. I’m sure it went both ways though…they could have been telling each other our food was awful, but we all had a Blast.

After we ate, Jessica and Jessica played beauty shop and Jess and I felt so stuff and disgusted (since we had broken our fast) that we decided to work out in our room on the new stand and spin that Jess bought.

Though we didn’t have a chance to do ministry today, we were able to minister to each other and the Pastor’s family and church family which made for a good day.
