yeah… so here we are in cairo. we have been her for about 5 days now and i have to day that i have thoroughly enjoyed my time of rest but i am so ready to get to our ministry site. the south africans, along with the blue team, our long lost team member jessica sisson, and kimberly lynch, and sarah rinn all arrived here last night. Gary, Katherine, and Ashley will be her tonight and at 9am in the morning we get to go to our ministry site.

tonight we got to go sailing on the nile river. it was an amazing experience… (pictures will soon be on the way). while on the nile we were talking about how it was the river that moses was floating it and the river that got turned to blood… it was a great time that we all got to talk and pray together.

we sat there and listened to evelyn, she is the lady that will be leading us to our ministry site. we are going to northern egypt by a school bus with no air at 9am in the morning. we are going to a village that is 70% muslim, 30% orthodox christian. there we will be working with the orthodox church and encouarging them. she gave us some what of an idea of what to expect when we get there… are you ready?

so the way the people live are in “family houses”. on the first floor, the donkey and waterbuffalo live there (in the winter time the waterbuffalo serve as their heater, since they breathe hot air) on  the second floor, that is where the family lives, on the third floor, their son(s) live with their wife, and on the roof is the oven for bread and the pigeons, chicken, and rabbits. at night instead of going to walk the dog, they take the waterbuffalo on a walk.

quite different from the way we live? well, i have to say these days we have come to the conclusion that nothing surprises us and nothing is unordinary… so we are off to go live “family style”. we will be staying in the bishops house, where they say it is HOTT is “cooks” in the sun all day and at night does not cool of… visions of india again are already running through my head.

we are expecting great things to happen and for the lord to use us in mighty ways. we are open, willing, and ready to get back into ministry again.

…keep us in your prayers.

love you all
