You know when you are at
church and they are like lets all rise and sing some worship songs
together. Do you ever notice the pauses
in between the music? Well at a certain
point in my walk with the Lord those moments have changed. At first there was a weird gap of silence in
between the songs. Those awkward gaps
that if someone was still singing it was super weird because all the music
stopped all at once and there was just a off note voice. (haha a lot of the times that was me!) Then the transitions get become quicker where
the singers stop singing but the musicians keep the music playing while they
transition. And this is great! This
allows you to not loose focus of the Lord and allows the worship team to
transition. Even though the song fades
your focus is on the Lord.
Not sure if this comes
next for most people, but for me there came a point when I began to actively
worship during the worship time. I would
sing my own songs of worship to the Lord.
Normally they would branch off of what the song was about. It was great!! When the song ended and there
was music still transitioning to the next song I would continue to sing to the
Lord. I would begin to say the words
from my heart to Him because this is worship!! A beautiful raw overflowing of
what was in my heart. A pouring out of
my affections for Him and gratitude.
Then I (haha) reached a
point where I am so unaware of the words that are being sung and what’s
happening around me that I completely fall into worship of the King. And here’s what happens to me in worship:
First I take a moment to be still.
When I am ready I began to praise Him.
I sing, dance, love Him
A time of beginning to say who He is; For He is the
Lord, the vine and I will abide in Him.
Lord help me abide in you.
Then I began to CAST OFF– I cast off all the worries from
the work week, I cast of worrying what people think about me at this moment, I
cast of worry. I just surrender any
thoughts that are not good to the Lord
Surrender
Then surrender comes. This is a place where arrive and say “Yes
Lord”
Holy
Spirit
This a place where you INVITE the Holy Spirit and LISTEN
What would you like to do here today?
And do what ever that is
Rejoice
After whatever the Holy Spirit has plan is done,
then rejoice!! Thank the Lord that we are the body and that He CHOSE US!!
And then the music ends….
**It is funny because the Lord told me this Sunday and today in the car
ride to work I thought “What if my day was like this??!”——So much joy would
come!
