“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will
give him a snake instead? Or if her asks for an egg, will give him a
scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good
gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give
the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11: 11-13

So many times I feel like I need to achieve a certain threshold of rightness in a task to receive any type of gift or praise. Meeting a goal, acing an exam, graduating from college and after that task is accomplished is when I get my reward that I have earned. But I am so thankful that God, my Father, is willing to take care of me. Willing to meet my needs and to fully understand everything I need and give me more that what I ask for.

Today I called one of my best friends to wish her a Happy Birthday and to apologize for not making it out to her birthday dinner. I wasn’t able to go because I didn’t have a car. Then a couple of hours later one of my friends called me out of the blue and asked me if I wanted to drive (an hour away) to surprise my best friend at dinner! I quickly checked with my friend to see if she was sane and wanted to spend all that gas money ($4.00/gal) for me to go have dinner with my best friend and she said that her friends dad had actually filled the tank so it wasn’t a problem. My Father in heaven is phenomenal in the fact that He not only knows my heart but gives me more than anyone here on earth would be willing to give especially at these gas prices! Praise God for his word (Luke 11:11-13)
