The morning started with about 30 adults cramming into a pick up and a jeep! Yeah it was a crazy tight squeeze! We piled in to go to a farm that was about 40 minutes away. We were told that there would be a river we might be able to swim in and that this was a time to pour into the leadership of the church. When we arrived we were excited to see what God had in store for us. So we uncramped our legs and began to hike the rest of the way to the farm. Soon we discovered the “river.” I guess at that time of the year it was just a stream/rocks! When we arrived we sang worship songs that we both knew in English and Spanish like Open the Eyes of my Heart Lord and Yes Lord! It was amazing to spend a day with their leadership just pouring into them with sermons and then at the end we prayed for them. (pic me and my teammate erica at retreat)
For me the prayer time was huge because God gave me and other people specific things to tell each person. We would pray for one person at a time and someone would get a vision of him or her, another person would confirm that with a word from God and I felt that God gave me something to tell them as well. The visions and words of encouragement were different for every person but they all seemed to confirm each other. I just felt that God was helping me grow in that area and showing me how to speak up.
I have known about my spiritual gift of intercession for a while but I never knew that some of the things that God told me to pray for people were words that I needed to speak to them. For example when we prayed for one guy I just felt that he needed to be filled even more with the Holy Spirit and other people could feel that to. Another young lady I envisioned wearing a wedding dress which was really strange for me until other people said that they felt God wanted to romance her this year. The experience was so exciting to be apart of and to have God confirm what each of us was saying through one another! I really felt that the day was an incredible day of pouring into their leadership. For me it was also an incredible day of personal growth in just seeing God push me further in my spiritual gifts! I am definitely curious to see what that will look like the rest of this yearJ
God bless and thank you all for reading and supporting me out here!! Your prayers mean a LOT!!
