After I became a Christian in middle school I began attending church
with my best friends family.  They were all Christians and were just
starting to look for a new church so we all began our search together.
We went to several services and we finally all agreed to make Milford
Assembly of God our home.  Each sermon really touched our hearts and
helped us grow in our walk with God.  On occasion missionaries would
come in and speak.  The first time I saw a missionary speak I was
amazed that this was their job!  That they just went around sharing the
grace of Jesus Christ and helping people who were in need!!  I was
blown away that someone could do this for a living!!

After
seeing that I was pretty much overly content with the thought of being
a missionary.  But I still wanted to become a doctor and heal people in
nations that needed it the most so I decided that I wanted to be a
missionary doctor.

In college I volunteered in a clinic in
Costa Rica with people who lived in the poor outskirts of San Jose.
Before that trip I thought the whole situation would take a toll on my
emotions but to my surprise it just made me want to work my hardest to
help them.  Being around people who were in need of help just made me
want to be more of a servant to them.  Anything I could get my hands on
to help I was ready and willing to do.  That week we were down there we
taught children in soup kitchens, helped patients fill out charts and
gave patients prescriptions.  I know that the experience was just a
week but I was completely content with life when I was there.

All
of these events along with a few other experiences like relief work for
hurricane Katrina and missions trip to Turkey have all contributed to
my calling to the missions field.
