Our ministry is in a city called Azua. When we met with the pastor of the church we are helping Azua was described as a desert; a place where people are forgotten. Azua is a small city that has a lot of rocks and our side of the two main roads is where we work at. The communities are small and it seems like everyone shares most things. The church members are mainly children. The first night we were here we held a youth service and there were about 40 kids. In the Sunday service there was about 70 people and another 40 at another location that we taught at that day.

At first being in this community felt like we were thrown into a lot of responsibility but we got our bearings and figured out how to present songs, scripture and testimonies in Spanish…the first two days! Yeah some things have been a challenge but so worth it!

Listen to this:

I have been helping with sports ministry, which consists of teaching the children volleyball, soccer, and basketball. The Pastor wanted us to teach them sports because he said that all they know how to do is hit a ball with a stick and throw rocks! So far my girls and I have been teaching basketball to teenager boys and younger boys. Yesterday after teaching basketball to the boys the Pastor took us aside and asked us to look around the corner of the school we were teaching at. As we looked around the corner we saw all the little boys that we were doing dribbling drills with forming their own lines and doing the drills by themselves!! The Pastor said that all those boys are the trouble makers and to even see them make a line together was phenomenal!!

Halleujah that we are already starting to make a difference in some young boys lives! Also another praise at one of the house bible studies one man came to Christ!!   Yay God!

Please continue to pray for health for our team some people are sick and pray for our continued protectionJ Love you all!
