Last month, my team and I spent a month in Myanmar. This is a wonderful, beautiful country that direly needs to be lifted up. People in Myanmar are HUNGRY for the Truth, and they’re fighting to bring it from Heaven to Earth.
If you’d like to pray for Myanmar in specific ways, just read below.

PRAY FOR MANDALAY, MYANMAR
Please pray for the city of Mandalay. Please pray that its citizens would be vulnerable and grab the Gospel, and that hearts would reposition themselves in a way that is open to Jesus, His Love, and His Gift of Salvation. Please pray for peace over this city. Please also pray that the Holy Spirit would comfort and encourage Mandalay’s children, equip and empower its teachers, comfort and provide for its widows, and feed, clothe and protect its homeless. Please pray for the safety of Mandalay’s women and children.
THE FUTURE OF MYANMAR
Please pray for the future of Myanmar. Please pray that the citizens of Myanmar would please their hope in Jesus, not in the works they have done or are doing, not in the money they have made or will make, not in their government, but Jesus only. Please pray that more Christian missionaries would be able to enter Myanmar, and that Burmese Christians would be able to go around Myanmar, boldly sharing the Gospel with unreached people groups. Please declare, in the name of Jesus, that the entire country of Myanmar will one day be a valiant nation, always- hungry for more of Jesus and a deeper understanding of the Gospel. Please pray that the Holy Spirit would have more freedom to move in Myanmar.
PEACE BETWEEN PEOPLE OF ALL RELIGIONS
Please pray for peace between all of Mandalay’s citizens, including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians. Please pray for a complete stop of religious turmoil, including the intense racism between Muslims and Buddhists. Please pray that everyone is more empathetic and understanding of the people in the other groups.
THE BUDDHISTS IN MYANMAR
Please pray for Buddhist monks, including children monks. Please pray for strongholds to be broken in their lives, and for them to see and fully experience the Lord’s Love and Grace. Please pray that they would learn that life is about receiving a Gift, not working for a better after life, and that they would respond to the Holy Spirit’s stirrings.
THE BURMESE GOVERNMENT
Please pray for the government to open doors for Christian groups and their ministries, including the Christian Youth Network (CYN) and for the Holy Spirit to stir in the government officials’ hearts, causing them to be more vulnerable to the transforming power of the Gospel.
CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATIONS/CHURCHES IN MANDALAY
Please pray for Christian organizations to blossom and flourish in Mandalay, boldly sharing the Gospel. Please pray that the leaders of the churches would seek the Lord’s guidance and wisdom in all areas of their ministries, and continue to be bold when sharing their faith. Please pray that each church would respond to the Holy Spirit, and that they would give their time, attention, compassion and wisdom generously during their times of outreach.
BURMESE CHRISTIAN YOUTH
Please pray that the youth would continue to grab hold of the Gospel, run with it, and share it with others. Please pray that the Holy Spirit would help them be so secure in who they are in Christ that they would not be ashamed of their faith, but instead, share it boldly for the sake of the Gospel.
CHRISTIAN YOUTH NETWORK (CYN)
Please pray that the Lord would continue to show Favor to the Christian Youth Network (CYN). Please pray that the CYN’s members would have no fear in partnering with other organizations (especially ones with foreign citizens) as part of their ministry. Please pray that its leaders would continue to be humble servant leaders, and continue to disciple the youth in the various youth ministries all over Mandalay.
THE ISREALITES IN MYANMAR
Please pray for the Israelites in Myanmar. Please pray for their protection and safety. Please pray for the city of Yangon, Myanmar, where many Israelites are currently living.
THE TOURISTS OF MYANMAR
Please pray that the tourists who enter Myanmar, especially those “in search of something” would not only feel, but grandly experience the love of Jesus and His Holy Spirit. Please pray that people who come to Myanmar leave completely changed, full of the Love and Joy of Jesus.
BUSINESS/ EMPLOYMENT IN MYANMAR
Please pray that the business deals (domestic and international) occurring in Myanmar are fair, just and honest. Please pray that business leaders/ employers would employ people based on their abilities and potential, and not on their religious background, and give them fair wages for their work. Please pray that the people of Myanmar would completely abandon the ideas of cheating, being lazy, and not trying to do their best and immediately pick up and develop good ethics about hard work, and really grasping the idea that what they sow, they will reap.
