Dear Friends,
This past year has been SUCH a year of growth for me, and one area where I really blossomed was in writing poems/spoken word/songs. I feel that writing in these particular styles, helps me share what’s going on in my life in a deep, different and special way, much more special than if I just gave an account, and analyzed it, etc.
Writing spoken word/poems/songs is a big challenge for me, but it’s a good challenge that I really enjoy. So here is the latest, a poem called “Where You Belong” I hope it touches and inspires.
Question to reflect on before, during or after reading the poem/song: Where did you grow in 2013? Where do you want to grow in 2014? Think about it. : ]
Where You Belong
You were stuck in a place for what seemed like too long
Your faith, it was shaken, felt like it was all wrong.
You were ignoring the Peace I so desperately wanted to release
Your thoughts tossed like the wind, your feelings moved like the sea,
You couldn’t stand on solid ground, so you got down on your knees,
And cried, “Lord, I am weak, please hear my plea and help me.”
When suddenly My Light broke through the grey
I said, “Turn away from the lies and follow My Way,”
“Say Yes to My Love, and say no to the fear,”
“and just stay right here, in Me.”
“Stay in Me, stay in Me,”
“Depend on me to make your faith strong.”
“Rest in Me, rest in Me,”
“In my care is where you belong.”
As you came into My Presence, I poured out my Truth,
that I’ll never forsake, forget, or leave
and My Grace is sufficient, it’s more than enough
but only when you believe.
So My darling, please believe….
Stay in Me, stay in Me,
Depend on me to make your faith strong.
Rest in Me, Rest in Me,
In My care is where you belong.
Nothing on the earth or in the sky can separate us
Because you were made from my unfailing love
So when you’re in the battle, rejoice in the fight
Turn to me, and remember that I made it right
My darling, remember, I made it right.
Stay in Me, Stay in Me,
Depend on Me to make your faith strong.
Rest in Me, rest in Me,
In My care is where you belong.
