Ever since I was little, I craved adventure. Even my mom told me that when I was a mere 2 years old, I didn’t want to hold her hand while walking down the step of my front steps, but instead, wanted to hold into the posts in the railing. A lesson that I’ve learned (and I’m still learning) time and time again is that wanting an adventurous life can be a good thing, as long as it’s stewarded in a good way. At some points in my life, I did not steward my desire in a good way, as I sought thrills in different temporary pleasures like getting high and drunk.

Thankfully, by God’s Grace, He redirected and re- stewarded my desire for thrills for adventures that are full of life and love. By being on the Race, God is giving me the desire of my heart to see new places, smell new smells, touch new things, hear new sounds and experience life outside of my backyard and straight into 11 countries.

What a blessing that is.

It’s SO important to steward our desires well. If you didn’t know it let me give it to you straight, you too are destined to venture out and live a great story. You came to this earth to live a fantastic and extra- ordinary life, CHOCK- FULL of adventure and love. You too don’t have to be complacent with “living” in the day – to- day, ruts, staying in your backyard, and not venturing out. So today, right now, I encourage you to venture out.

I know, I know, you’re reading and saying to yourself, “’What does ‘venturing out’ exactly look like, Kim?”

Well, venturing out can be displayed in many different ways:

trying a new hobby (or practicing an old hobby that you gave up long ago but want to start up again,)

taking a  bus to a major city in another state for the weekend,

buying flowers for a stranger,

going to a restaurant you’ve never been to before,

quitting your job and then booking a one way ticket to another country,

or maybe,

               just maybe,

applying to go on an 11- month mission trip.

If the previous line caught your attention, I have some  2- Worded pieces of advice:

Venture out.

Apply today.

(You’re ready.)

Have fun.

Dig In.

Enjoy everything.
